Hello, A little background. Im 14 years old, Im a female. all ya needa know! Ive had this teacher for the last two years and im really good at her subject, like the rest of my class. But she always like, praises me for just finishing my work. She told me once that she loves seeing me walk into her class. A few days ago i was hanging around with my friends and she teaches them also, but she only looked at me and smiled. Sometimes after school i walk home, or if im home early from the bus, ill go to the shop for a drink or something and ive seen her drive past, and when she does she smiles at me, but i pretend not to look,lol. I'm going to Kent State University. My EFC is above my 'financial need'. All that I expect to get is a parent PLUS loan. The school won't even tell me whether I have any scholarships or anything pending if I turn in my parents W-2s and tax returns. I don't think they have the right to ask for this stuff considering the circumstances. It's really none of their business what my parents spend their money on. Americans have declined in health on a steady scale since the advent of the television. Kids watch it more than playing outside, or they "sit" and play video games that might promote hand eye coordination, but nothing more. (I do think the Wii looks like a great idea, too pricey though). Adults have watched television in the evenings replacing sitting and talking or reading a good book. If you watch TV shows they are for the most part very unrealistic, and always have been. When I was growing up I really believed there were families like the Brady's. There had to be families that had no "real" problems, no struggles outside of will Marsha's nose keep her from going to the dance, and who didn't seem to have to even work to make ends meet. Maybe we have pushed so much of those lifestyles into our televisions and our homes that we think our families, as dysfunctional as they may be, are not normal. I believe dysfunction is normal. I have a very basic understanding of the 5 dimensions to say the least. I know that 1 dimension is a straight line, 2 dimensions is a square, 3 dimensions is a cube, and the 4th and 5th dimensions are more complex figures that are mostly beyond my understanding. We supposedly live in a 4 dimensional universe, composed of the 3 spatial dimensions and time. I understand that much. Does this mean that any universe below the 4th dimension is without time? When school comes around you're gonna be buying anything that you wanna wear!". I never tried to provoke any of this, when i showed him my project and told him to read it (which i probably should have asked him to read it.) he flung it away and said "Don't ever throw **** at my face again." I didn't even throw it at his face, i put it on the counter in front of him. I did slam it down but it was at least two feet away from him. I've never really had problems with him before, as long as i stay quiet and do what he says i'm ok. Maybe it was the fact that he's never been so aggressive towards me that made me so comfortable doing what i did. Needless to say though, it scared the **** out of me. Luckily my mom came when she did because it was just getting worse and worse. I've always done what he said because he puts clothes on my back and food on the table, but now he's threatening to deprive me of that. I don't know what to do at this point. I never liked being in boy scouts anyway so i might try and convince my mom to let me quit. If i had never tried to do this merit badge none of this would have happened. I went ahead and burned the packet in my room with a lighter that my biological dad gave me. I see him every now and then during the summer but i don't know him well enough to ask if i can move in. How could one who is not a Witness die now, before armageddon, and recieve an opportunity to live forever in paradise, yet that same person, in the Watchtower's view, lives on, dies at armageddon, and recieves the second death without opportunity? This is the view, currently, and I reject it. I see no need to go out to save people, when in reality they will recieve opporutunity to live forever during Christ's reign. Is it just me? I think you have a pretty good chance at Illinois, Wash., & UNC. Carnegie Mellon you might but Texas-Austin would also be kinda a stretch because of the amount they accept out-of-state. If your talking about USC as in South Carolina then yes but I'm almost positive your not haha but Southern Cal might also be a stretch, not sure. You should be fine though with your choices.

My boyfriend is doing drugs!! PLEASE HELP!?!?

I HATE druggies and my boyfriend was like that too, he didn't even drink alcohol but he's changed. First he got really majorly depressed about the past and his parents and childhood and how he never got to live a normal life and seriously attempted suicide but luckily his friends found out and called 911 and they managed to save him. Then the doctors put him on antidepressants but he stopped taking them and said they don't work and he's been taking Oxycontin, the really strong painkiller to "numb" himself. At first I didn't say anything because I felt bad for him and he only did it once or twice a week. But now he's been taking 2 pills a DAY and chain smokes cigarettes. He doesn't have any feelings or emotions when he's on the drug he just stares at the sky and he says that's how he likes to feel, they take away his pain and help him escape reality. Maybe that's true but chain smoking and daily opioid painkillers at only 19 shorten your life by like 20-40 years. I just want him to be happy and healthy. What should I do? :'(

Americans have declined in health on a steady scale since the advent of the television. Kids watch it more than playing outside, or they "sit" and play video games that might promote hand eye coordination, but nothing more. (I do think the Wii looks like a great idea, too pricey though). Adults have watched television in the evenings replacing sitting and talking or reading a good book. If you watch TV shows they are for the most part very unrealistic, and always have been. When I was growing up I really believed there were families like the Brady's. There had to be families that had no "real" problems, no struggles outside of will Marsha's nose keep her from going to the dance, and who didn't seem to have to even work to make ends meet. Maybe we have pushed so much of those lifestyles into our televisions and our homes that we think our families, as dysfunctional as they may be, are not normal. I believe dysfunction is normal. You should definitely try and get that ACT scor higher. You want to be consistent when it comes to your standarfized tests and high school grades, and a 23 can definitely be improved. I'm pretty sure the next ACT date nationwide should be October 1st. Hope this helps!

Im so confused. I do like guys, but or about 3- 4 months now ive been on the fence about whether or not im bi-sexual (15 yrs old, female). I have told 3 of my closest (girl) friends about this, and 2 of the 3 are supportive, one in particular. Lets call her A. My mom's in her mid 50's, and im about early 20's. My mom had some troubled past that led to her anxiety and rejection to reality. The problem is, my mom was never that independent to begin with, but in a way that she did what she wanted and still had a place to come back to with my dad. She divorced m dad 2 years ago b/c of differences, and she's still with a deadbeat husband that cannot be found. Right now my dad doesn't want anything to do with my mom, and I'm her only emotional support, she still have a few friends left and she can only go out if there are people she knows. Lately she hasn't need me physically with her too much, but she still calls me 10 times a day, and have to see me if there are no one with her. Her doc has been telling her that she needs to practice going out by herself atleast once a week, but she hasn't been doing that for a while. I unfortunately is very emotional too, my health isn't that great either, and my work is stressful. There's many things I want to do for her but don't know how or have he patience to. Ever time when I tell my mom about how she should think about gettin better and start doing something for her future, she tells me that she doesn't think she'll live that long anyways.

I am a rising senior in high school, and I play volleyball. I have been looking at playing somewhere in college, and have had a couple offers for full rides at division 1 schools. These schools are pretty good academically, and they are overall nice. However, I have also been talking to ivy league schools, and many of them are interested. I have the grades and scores to get in. But ivy leagues don't give any kind of merit or athletic scholarships. Do you think that the education I would receive there is worth not getting a full ride? We can afford to pay, but it would be nice not to have to worry about paying for college. So, should I go with a full ride somewhere with not as good academics, or have to pay for an ivy league education??

The warm side needs to be 85-95 degrees during the day and 75-80 at night. The reason why your gecko doesnt come out is because they are nocturnal. They come out when the light gets turned off, the light mocks the sun and she thinks its daytime so she she sleeps and when you turn off the light she thinks its night time so she comes out. You can use a 50 watt daylight bulb, it works great I have one and it keeps the basking spot in the low 90's during the day (I have a 10 gallon) but because you have a 30 gallon you can also keep the UTH on 24/7 to produce more heat because of your tank size on the basking side, also make sure you have a thermometer. I recommend a digital thermometer which is like $12 for a cheap one to make sure the basking side isnt to hot because standard ones arent really accurate like a digital.

I started my first period on friday, and todays sunday (so 3 days later) on friday i managed 2 skip pe cuz i pretended to have 4got my pe kit!! as my period started ova night. Yes they should be okay together if the tank has been cycled. Well the danios would probably do fine to cycle the tank as they are quite hardy, but wait in the other until after cycling. I assume you have a filter and heater and all that good stuff too. I would put some decorations in the tank, like some fake plants and rock or driftwood. You can make the tank look nice to you as long as the fish have some cover to feel secure, they will be fine. Castles and priates ships work too if that is your style. As for catfish, I would use corydora catfish but get a group of five or more so they can school. Most other species of catfish get large and will eat small fish. For food, tropical flakes should be fine for everyone but you should get some sinking food for the catfish when you get them.

I am 6 weeks pregnant iv started bleeding, is this normal?

i was 5 weeks pregnant when i started to bleed, its not a lot its just mainly when i go to the toilet and wipe. i went to the hospital and they thought it was a eptopic but i had a scan and it showed that it wasn't eptopic, and that there was still a pregnancy there, but it was to early to see a heart beat so iv got to go back the 16th for a scan. im 6weeks pregnant now and im still bleeding, it started off as a brown colour, then went red with a few tiny clots now its brown again, im not in eny pain at all thow..i have also lost symptoms of pregnancy. i did have a blood test an that came back fine, my levels were how they should be. i have had a miscarriage in the past and i was in agony and lost loads of blood an very large clots..im just confussed, can someone tell me if the same as happened to them or if its possible to lose symtoms..thanks

I took a practice test 2 weeks ago (actually it was the official 2009 Form S test from a friend who graduated) and I received a total score of 194 (M:68, CR:64, and W:62). I really want to become a National Merit Scholar Finalist, and the score i need is a 212 because i live in Ohio. I have planned to study the entire summer but I am getting both anxious/overwhelmed. Could anyone get me tips or tell me what they did to study for these tests? I bought 3 books, the Princeton Review 2011, Barrons 15th ed., and Kaplan 2012 all specifically for the PSAT. I'm freaking out and I really need to get my score higher, can someone help!?

Not sure why you think "horrifically bad" but I got the picture. The purpose of telling a story, be it fiction or non, is to communicate a thought or idea. I thought it was very descriptive of the details and created a scenario I could see in my head and almost experience with my senses. You gave enough detail but did not overdue it to the extent of boredom. When people read fiction they want the experience of feeling like they are there. Just keep finding descriptions of detail that triggers the readers senses. Like right now I am thinking of chocolate! I can see it, smell it and taste it though I have not even bought it yet:) Just keep in mind it is easier to make the reader experience something they have actually experienced. When it comes to something less common, pay special attention to the key details to make it come alive. Your little excerpt here scores an A+ in my book!!

Im 18 and honestly, my family are different people. I'm a different person from my sister and she posseses characteristics i cant stand, and same with my parents, they dont understand thier kids, they just assume they know, but when we try to explain, they just say "oh im your mom, i know you best" but in reality, they really dont get it, they just assume... 6weeks pregnant and bleeding but no pain?

im am currentley 6weeks pregnant, last week when i was 5weeks gone i started bleeding, i went up the hospital and they kept me in as they thought it coud be a eptopic pregnancy. i had a ultrasound scan the next day, and its not a eptopic which is good. but because of only being 5weeks, they couldnt realy tell me much as it was to early for a heart beat. im now 6 and half weeks pregnant and the bledding stopped yesterday, so i was bleeding for a week, it wasnt loads, it was mainly when i went to the toilet and wiped, but at times there was quite a bit. but it started as a browny colour, then it went red for a few days then back brown an now its stopped. since it started iv not realy had eny major pain. im just so confussed as i had a miscarriage bout 2years ago and i had loads of blood then and clots, but its nothing like this now. i have also lost my pregnancy symptoms, but iv not lost eny clots or large amounts of blood. iv not got my scan till monday, can someone help with advice or if they have suffered the same as i am very confussed at whats happening. thanks

In my dream, i wanted to remove my wisdom teeth (this is a reflection of reality) but too scared to. My mom then show me how she remove her wisdom teeth by herself. (this is odd because she's not supposed to have any left but i ignore this in my dream). She was bleeding afterward but she seem cool and collected about it. As for me i was extremely worry that she might get an infection so I nag her to go see a dentist. We arrived at a female dentist office and i commented that she's not our family dentist. My school gives out merit awards and endeavor awards. Both are just bits of paper, but the merits are for actually doing well and the endeavors are simply for trying. The school only awards the athletic students, so they all get merits and I got stuck with an endeavor, which I found offensive. You don't get jobs for trying and you don't get promoted for effort alone-is it fair to give kids an award for not actually doing anything? And is it fair that the smart kids don't get recodnized properly, but the jocks do?
